SGA Mission Statement

The Student Government Association of Seton Hill University is a self-governing body for all Seton Hill students and organizations pledging to serve and advocate for students, to provide an academic and professional space for student leader collaboration, and to embody Setonian values and core principles with great emphasis on serving each individual member of the Setonian community.

Amplifying Student Voices

The Seton Hill University Student Government Association acts as the primary conduit for student voices and concerns, ensuring they are heard and addressed by the administration. The SGA accomplishes this by maintaining open channels of communication, primarily through regular executive board meetings and the establishment of the SGA Senate focused on diverse areas of campus life, such as academics, student affairs, and physical facilities. Student concerns, ranging from classroom issues to resource allocation or policy changes, are collected, formally discussed, and then presented to university officials, including the President's Office and various department heads, often through the SGA's executive board members who serve on key university committees. This systematic approach allows the SGA to advocate for student interests and influence institutional decision making, effectively amplifying the collective student perspective into actionable outcomes.

The 2024-2025 Annual Report

The Annual Report for the 2024-2025 academic year is full of everything that the SGA was able to accomplish over the previous academic year. It details the SGA's growth, including expanding to over 75 positions across the Executive Board, the Senate, and various committees. The report highlights the SGA's financial review and student organization allocations, noting that $12,081.47 was provided to student-led clubs and organizations for purposes such as club event funding, club conferences, SGA projects, and club trips. Additionally, it outlines campus improvement projects implemented, such as acquiring standing desks for the library and implementing frosted windows in the Exercise Science lab. The report also covers the reinstitution of the SGA Senate, the installation of the A-Lot Bus Shelter, the first annual Griffin Thon fundraiser for women's health, and the awards and honors received by the SGA, including the Advocacy Impact Award for the bus shelter initiative. The document was created as a reflection of the SGA's progress and a testament to their drive and commitment to improving and serving the needs of every student, in line with the legacy of their founder, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton.
